Some lessons I have developed for my students:
Primary:
Leveled Reading Groups- Plans for leveled reading groupsReal Reading Salad- Interactive lesson introduced reading comprehension strategies and incorporated science with a non-fiction text
Weekly Lesson Plans- Sample lesson plans for one week as required by the district. Included are the weekly overview of sight words, morning messages, etc. as well as the schedule for each day of the week.
To reinforce metacognition within the Real Reading Salad lesson:
Intermediate:
Lattice Multiplication- Based on the Everyday Math program, with anchor chart to display. Extension activity, included "fold-able" study guideMy Predictions Chart- Students kept track of their predictions and text evidence throughout Reader's Workshop novel studies with this chart (based on the CCLS for Literature K-5)
What Went Wrong?- The students examined given multiplication/division problems to identify and correct mistakes
Literacy-
Making Predictions- Teacher modeled predicting strategy within a read aloud, using the anchor chart to support student learningWriter's Workshop- Part of a research paper on chosen animal, included modeling of the writing process with anchor chart as support
Guided Reading- Students located non-fiction text features and applied reading strategies with this graphic organizer for information they acquired from the text.
